April 23, 2010 3:34pm - I obviously have problems. Contrary to what I last said, we will not be showing The Bounty Hunter this week. Instead, for the week of April 23, 2010 - April 29, 2010 we will once more be presenting Dear John, starring Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfried. My apologies for the confusion, and anyone who made plans based around my last posting.
While home on leave, Sergeant John Tyree, a member of the Special Forces, meets and falls in love with Savannah Curtis, a college student visiting the town during spring break as she helps to build a house for Habitat for Humanity.
John joins in work on the house, and Savannah falls in love with John. As John returns to duty, and Savannah to school, they keep their relationship alive through a series of letters. Things go well until John re-enlists after the 9/11 attack on the U.S.
Can their love survive the change in plans?
April 14, 2010 11:10am - The week of April 16, 2010 - April 22, 2010 we will once again be showing Tim Burton's vision of the classic Lewis Carroll story, Alice in Wonderland.
Alice is 19, long past the childhood nightmares that became the story of her adventures in Wonderland. She is engaged to be married to a British nobleman.
At her own engagement party, Alice leaves the crowd to consider whether she wishes to go through with the marriage, and once more finds herself following a rabbit down a hole.
She finds herself in a surreal place called Underland, filled with the talking animals, villainous queens and knights, and fearsome creatures of her childhood nightmares. As she wanders the land, she becomes aware that she is there for a reason - to conquer the Jabberwocky and restore the rightful queen to her throne.
Return with us to the land of Enchantment, the Red Queen, the White Queen, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, the Caterpillar, the White Rabbit, the frumious Bandersnatch, the Dormouse, and the Mad Hatter (who is even madder than you remember) to see if Alice will restore the rightful Queen to her throne.
Remember, we are open during the week, also. Wednesday, April 14 and Thursday, April 15 at 7:00PM you can see Alice in Wonderland if you aren't able to make it down on the weekend.
